Haut-Medoc.

59% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot.

Made from the vineyards that Ducru-Beaucaillou owns in the Haut-Medoc. Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, a prestigious estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, France, is renowned for producing some of the finest wines in the region. The estate spans 75 hectares, with its vineyards primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, reflecting the classic Médoc blend. The gravelly soil, which inspired the name "Beaucaillou" (meaning "beautiful pebbles"), contributes to the exceptional quality and distinctive character of its wines. The château's commitment to excellence has solidified its reputation as one of the top wineries in Bordeaux.

James Suckling: 91-92/100

Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 90-92/100
The 2023 Madame de Beaucaillou is a very pretty, aromatic wine. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon, dried herbs and a kiss of French oak are all nicely delineated. This juicy, perfumed, Merlot-based Haut-Médoc is a fine choice for drinking over the next decade or so. The 2023 is absolutely delicious.

Jane Anson: 89/100
Chewy, juicy and mouthwatering blueberry and blackberry fruit. Clear lift through the palate, with edges of raspberry leaf and a touch of austerity on the tannins, given focus by anis and liqourice spice. Harvest September 8 to October 3 across all their plots. 20% new oak. Vines from Listrac (35ha), Moulis (3ha) and Haut-Médoc (10ha) as of the 2020 vintage.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Wine Independent: 87-89/100
The 2023 Madame de Beaucaillou is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It zips out of the glass with sparky notes of juicy raspberries and wild strawberries with underlying suggestions of cloves, roses, and dusty soil. The medium-bodied palate is bright and refreshing, with youthful red berry flavors and a lightly chewy texture, finishing with a touch of herbal zing. The blend is 59% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot.
