Saint-Emilion.

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc.

Château Villemaurine is a distinguished estate located in the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Spanning 7 hectares, this historic château is renowned for its exceptional wines that reflect the unique character of its terroir. The vineyards are primarily planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, flourishing in the limestone-rich soils typical of the region.

James Suckling: 94-95/100

Jane Anson: 93/100
Smoky grilled oak on the nose, red roses, rosemary, intense inky ruby colour. Love what they are producing at this estate over recent years, and this captures the energy of the vintage. 70% new oak, 30hl/ha yield.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Wine Independent: 92-94/100
The 2023 Villemaurine has a deep garnet-purple color. It is a little closed and reluctant to start off, offering glimpses at stewed plums and boysenberry preserves, with hints of tar, dried herbs, and graphite. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with muscular fruit, with a grippy texture and bags of freshness, finishing a little firm. It will take some time to come around, but promises to be a beauty!

Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 92-95/100
