Pomerol.
Merlot 89%, Cabernet Franc 7%, Cabernet Sauvignon 4%.
An essential reference of Pomerol, the Château Gazin testifies to very ancient origins. In 1917, Château Gazin was acquired by Louis Soualle, the great-grandfather of the current owners, the De Bailliencourt dit Courcol family.
Château Gazin 2023 is a Pomerol wine from a 26-hectare vineyard located on the high terrace of a clay-gravelly terroir. Château Gazin is thus the largest of the crus of the famous appellation located on the right bank of the Bordeaux region.
Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 91-93/100
The 2023 Gazin is deep, layered and exceptionally well-balanced. All the elements are in the right place. Dark red/purplish fruit, spice, leather, tobacco and dried herbs all meld together in a seamless, super-expressive Pomerol that hints at a very bright future. This is a fine follow up to the 2022.
