Pinot Noir from this vineyard comes with unforced undergrowth characters. It’s one of the main reasons it matures so well; its inbuilt complexity works wonders with age. This release has some showy oak on top but its trademark underlying cues are all there; it’s both autumnal and cherried, its pristine plum characters presenting as though they’ve been rolled along the forest floor. There’s a tightness to the finish and a slight dryness there too. The score is for now; the future may well yield higher.
