Second wine of Clos Fourter. Clos Fourtet is a prestigious estate located in the Saint-Émilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Spanning 20 hectares, this historic vineyard is celebrated for producing wines of exceptional quality and complexity. The vineyards are predominantly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, thriving in the limestone and clay soils of the region.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 La Closerie de Fourtet slowly emerges from the glass with fragrant scents of lavender oil and iris bulb leading to a core of fresh plums and raspberry coulis plus a hint of wild sage. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and light on its feet, with enticing red berry flavors and soft tannins, finishing with a skip in its step. The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc (some of it from younger vines on the limestone plateau and from the lower section on clay).
