50% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc

Sociando-Mallet is a distinguished wine estate located in the Haut-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, France. Founded in the 17th century, the estate has a long history of producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. With vineyards spanning approximately 85 hectares, Sociando-Mallet benefits from gravelly soils and a maritime climate, ideal conditions for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Wine Independent: 91-93/100
A blend of 50% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Sociando-Mallet is deep garnet-purple in color. It slowly emerges from the glass with pure notes of fresh strawberries and black raspberries, plus hints of lavender, rose bud tea, and wild thyme, with a touch of cinnamon. The medium-bodied palate is bright, crunchy, and tightly wound, with great tension and lightly chewy tannins to support, finishing on a minerally note.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 89-91/100
The 2023 Sociando-Mallet is a deep, powerful wine. Black cherry, incense, blackberry, licorice and cloves add to an impression of somber gravitas. Unctuous and rich, the 2023 shows the natural intensity of the Merlot in this vintage. Sociando is pretty heady in this vintage.
