A blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, La Pointe 2023 has a pH of 3.58 and is deep garnet-purple in color. It slowly emerges from the glass with fragrant scents of redcurrant jelly, Morello cherries, and fresh plums, leading to hints of star anise, lilacs, fallen leaves, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate is lively and vivacious, with energetic black and red berry layers and soft, satiny tannins, finishing long and earthy. Nicely done!

Peony floral aromatics, showcases some of the easy pleasure that La Pointe has long been able to deliver, with waves of pomegrante, creamy blackberry fruit, and the cocoa bean dusting of Pomerol. Tannins are supple. A successful handling of the 2023 vintage from director Eric Monneret and winemaker Pierre Candelier.
