Saint-Emilion.
50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot
Second wine of Château Pavie. Château Pavie, a crown jewel of the Saint-Émilion appellation in Bordeaux, France, is one of the most prestigious wine estates in the region. Holding the esteemed rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Château Pavie is renowned for its exceptional quality and illustrious history. The estate spans 37 hectares of prime vineyard land, characterized by a diverse terroir of limestone plateau, clay-limestone slopes, and sandy-clay soils.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Aromes de Pavie charges out of the glass with notes of redcurrant jelly, blackberry pie, and plum preserves giving way to hints of mint tea, bay leaves, and black olives. The medium to full-bodied palate had a solid backbone of firm fine-grained tannins and bold freshness to support the dense vibrant fruit, finishing long and with fantastic purity. The blend is 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot, with pH 3.63.
