Made with Albillo.
Bodega Magna Vides is the realized dream of winemakers Pablo Arranz & Andrea Sanz. Based in the Ribeira del Duero, Spain, they work their vineyards with biodynamic and organic practices. Their 11ha of old vines have an age range of 70 – 110 years old, and a particularly special plot 0.2ha in size of vines planted in the 1860s. They’re currently planting an additional 6.4ha of vines using cuttings from their best old vines. Tempranillo, Bobal, Garnacha Blanca, Albillo Mayor, and a number of varieties yet to be identified are tended to.
In the winery they vinify each variety and plot separately, using small tanks or barrels, indigenous yeasts, and only 15% new French oak. The duo are currently renovating a wine cellar that dates back to the 16th century, in which they’ll age their wines.
